  • 10th-12th grade students from any high school in the New York City area can apply. This includes public, charter, and private schools. Students must also commit to attending all pre-tour curriculum sessions leading up to the tour.

  • Kids N Culture accepts 10-12 ambassadors per program, with 2-3 programs planned per year. We use a general application that allows students to be considered for multiple destination options with one submission. Being open to any destination does make you more competitive, so we highly encourage it if you are able to!

  • Yes! We are open to any and all high school students. We are working to close the gap for experiential learning for all students, and we know that your school doesn’t define you.

  • Kids N Culture is a fully funded travel program including all student travel, meals, activities and logistics. Students are responsible for any personal passport fees, personal spending money for snacks or souvenirs, and $200 gratuity for our local guides and drivers on tour.

  • There are 8 pre-tour curriculum meetings, with more than half taking place virtually. These meetings include field trips across NYC, virtual meetings after school, and kick-off & departure meetings with students and their families.

  • No, you don’t need a passport in order to apply for the program. That said, we will ask for proof that you have applied for a passport within one week of being selected as an Ambassador. With passport wait times at an all time high, we have to guarantee that your passport will arrive before our departure date. Most destinations require your passport to be valid for (6) months after our return date, so check the expiration date!
